The delegation headed by the Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov participates in the Symposium on Global Implementation Support (GISS) organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which takes place in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from May 30 to June 1, 2023.

This event brings together the ICAO World Aviation Forum (IWAF), the Global Aviation Cooperation Symposium (GACS) and the TRAINAIR PLUS Global Aviation Training and Symposium to introduce the latest digital tools, key initiatives and joint efforts to support aviation sustainability, innovation, sustainable development and operational solutions.

Also, within the framework of the symposium, the delegation of Uzbekistan took part in a round table where state, regional and global strategies that contribute to the effective implementation of international aviation standards were discussed. These include cooperation with ICAO in support of its efforts to mobilize resources to accelerate the growth and increase the sustainability of international civil aviation, issues of advanced training of aviation personnel.

It is important to note the role of ICAO in the development of civil aviation in the Republic of Uzbekistan. On July 3, 1992, the Parliament of Uzbekistan ratified the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Resolution of the Supreme Council No. 666-XII of 03.07.1992) and on November 12, 1992, the Republic of Uzbekistan became a full member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), assuming the corresponding obligations. The aviation rules of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other regulatory legal documents in the field of civil aviation of the republic are adopted on the basis of international ICAO standards, which continuously ensures flight safety. Civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan participates within the framework of ICAO in the ICAO Universal Program for Conducting Inspections of the Organization of Flight Safety Control, as well as in the ICAO Universal Program for Conducting Inspections in the Field of Aviation Security in States. Cooperation with ICAO plays an important role in the development of civil aviation in our country.
