A working dialogue took place between the Chairman of the Committee of Highways under the Ministry of Transport, Jamshid Tursunov, and the Director of the transport branch of the Asian Development Bank, Chen Chen, on the issues of institutional and innovative development of road facilities based on international standards.
During the conversation, the Chairman of the committee informed in detail that phased construction and maintenance work in the road sector will be carried out on the basis of international FIDIC rules, innovative technologies will be used in the development and digitalization of highways, as well as the creation of the Smart Road system, and called on the Asian Development Bank to continue constructive cooperation.
It was noted at the meeting that projects worth more than $1 billion were implemented jointly, and such practical work will continue in the future.
Chen Chen also said that the Asian Development Bank has joined the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. It was noted that the bank will also provide technical support in this matter.
At the end of the dialogue, Director of the transport division Chen Chen noted that at the end of August Uzbekistan will be visited by the Fact finding mission, which will be organized within the framework of the bank's Rural Roads Development project, within which the parties agreed to continue discussing cooperation issues.
