At the expense of ADB funds, a project is being implemented to reconstruct the section of the highway 4R105 “Darband–Boysun–Elbayon” with a length of 5-70 km (65 km) and the section 4R100 “Manguzar – Zharkurgan – Bandikhon – Altynsay –Denov” with a length of 128-174 km (46 km) in Surkhandarya region. The total length of the highway, which will be reconstructed as part of the project, will be 111 km.

Upon completion of the reconstruction of these highways, the highways of international significance M39 and M41 passing through the territory of Surkhandarya region will be merged, which will reduce by 146 km the 298 km long highway available to international and local road carriers carrying out transportation to Tashkent.
