On August 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the development and diversification of international transport corridors.

Industry and entrepreneurship are developing more and more in our country. Since the beginning of the year, 50,000 new enterprises have been established, and the number of exporters has exceeded 7,500. The volume of exports increased by 1.3 times compared to last year and reached 8 billion 200 million dollars.

As important as production is in the economy, so is the delivery of the product. This is especially relevant in the current situation where logistics problems are at their peak in the world.

Therefore, exporting enterprises are supported by our state in every way. This year, the products of our country entered 32 new markets. Work on joining the World Trade Organization is also accelerating.

Taking into account the increase in transportation costs in the world, exporters were given compensation of 170 billion soums by the state to partially cover these costs. Also, the amount of subsidy for transport costs for companies exporting finished products to Europe has been increased from 50 percent to 70 percent.

The products of our country are transported abroad mainly through 9 transport corridors. In the presentation, current issues and proposals for their solution were discussed on each transport corridor.

- The development of the transport sector is an important basis for increasing the competitiveness of the economy. If the cost of transportation of goods in transport is low, both export and investment will increase, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Ministry of Transport was tasked with offering the most suitable routes for entrepreneurs and reducing their transport costs.

The importance of obtaining additional permits for transporting export goods to Europe was emphasized. A proposal was made to establish joint transport companies with Pakistan and Turkmenistan for the transportation of goods by car.

Instructions were given to accelerate the reconstruction of the "Kongirot-Beinov" international highway, to fully utilize the production capacity of freight cars.
