International experience in organizing the efficient use of electric buses is being studied

Within the framework of the project "Tashkent-accelerating investments in low emission vehicles", which is currently implementing by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan, an international training programme was organized.

Participants from the Ministry of Transport and “Toshshahartranskhizmat” JSC took part in the in-person training programme on Electric Bus Procurement, Planning and Financing organized in Izmir, Turkey.

This training programme was organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the International Public Transport Association (UITP), with the aim of supporting cities where an electric bus fleet is being introduced, through the dissemination of advanced international experience, practices and knowledge.

During the training, the participants got acquainted with the information on the processes of purchasing electric buses, the effective organization of the charging system, various approaches to financing the purchase of electric buses and public transport.

Also, as part of the training program, the participants visited the bus fleet of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT organization, which is the largest transport operator in Izmir, and got acquainted with the electric Bus charging, repair, and maintenance processes, as well as fleet tracking and reporting processes.
